Traditional Indian street game
Pattam (Kites)
Pattam is a kite: a square of thin paper on a cross of bamboo slivers, flown on thread from a spool. Across India the sky fills with them around Makar Sankranti, and kite fights can fill a whole afternoon.

Tie the bridle: two strings from the frame meet at a knot, and the flying line is tied there. Its angle sets how the kite sits in the wind.
Stand with your back to the wind. A friend holds the kite a few steps away and lets go as you pull the line.
Let the line out in short bursts as the kite climbs, and pull in to lift it if it sinks.
Steer with small tugs: when you pull, the kite moves the way its nose is pointing.
In a kite fight, two flyers cross lines and try to cut each other's string. A cut kite drifts away, and anyone can chase it.
Fly in open ground, away from power lines. Glass-coated and nylon string is banned in many places because it hurts birds and people, so use plain cotton thread.

How it plays in Vilayo
Fly your kite through the marigold garlands above the terrace. Like every game in Vilayo, it is built in real 3D, and the touch controls do what your hands would do on the street.
Levels are short, and each one gives up to three stars. Easy, Medium and Hard tiers bring new grounds and harder challenges, and the whole game plays offline.
